What is the cost of SMP?

Costs will depend on the amount of hair loss and will be determined during the initial consultation.

Will the pigment color change?

SMP pigment will not change color. It may lighten over time, but the ink used is designed for the scalp, not the body. Using sunscreen regularly can extend the longevity of the pigment.

Is this permanent?

Over time SMP will lighten up since all skin naturally exfoliates itself. Some people need a touchup after 4 to 6 years to freshen up the color.

What kind of ink do you use?

We use carbon-based ink made specifically for use on the scalp.

How long is each session?

Between 2-4 hours, depending on the amount of hair loss.

What does SMP look like?

SMP looks like hair follicles. There are different outcomes depending on the look you are trying to achieve. This process can restore a youthful hairline by blending in thinning hair or bald spots to give the illusion of thicker hair.

Will SMP fade?

Over time, SMP can slightly fade with sun exposure and skin type. It may be necessary for touch-ups after 4-6 years, which will bring the appearance back to its original look.

What is the pain level?

Clients feel some level of discomfort, but claim it is tolerable.

How do you maintain SMP?

A good quality sunscreen

How long does SMP take?

2-5 sessions

What will my final result look like?

The results appear like a 5 o’clock shadow for men. As for women it gives the illusion of thicker hair.

Can I use topical hair growth serums or Propecia during the SMP procedure?

Yes, you can use Propecia. You cannot use topical hair growth serums during the course of the treatments and 30 days after the last session is complete

Can SMP help with FUE/FUT scars?

Yes it can! This can be done by blending the scar into your natural hair seamlessly.

Can I get SMP if I have a hair transplant?

Of course! That would require a density fill-in to give the illusion of a fuller head of hair

How much downtime is needed?

SMP is a non-surgical procedure that requires no downtime. There may be some redness after each session depending on your skin, but you can go about your day as normal.
